Ode to a weekend off of work
current location: Amber's Apt
current mood: okay
current song: He War - Cat Power
Thus far me weekend off of work has been quite wonderful. Yesterday... I woke up at Leah's after her bonfire shingdig, inside curled up in a really comfy chair with two blankies. I had to drive Adam and Jerry back into town as both of the worked, and then I went back out for a few hours. In the morning we helped clean up the yard which surprisingly was not very messy. Branson and Amber had a wizard duel with roman candels. They intentionaly missed each other might I add.
After we came back into town, we dropped Danny off at his home and the rest of us waited at my place. Amber had called her mom and asked her to come and pick her up at my place since silly Amber locked her keys in her apartment. So Amber is waiting outside, and I drove Branson home. After that I decided that I needed a new day planner since mine was a school one and so it ran out a month ago. On my way to Staples in the mall I decided to stop at CD plus and say Hi to Jerry and Curtis. Curtis told me that Jerry was on lunch with Sarah and Rob so I ran to the food court to visit them.
Sarah then decided she needed a day planner and so after Rob and Jerry went back to work, we went to Staples to look. Of course, Sarah and I in any store, odds are we are going to get side tracked from our original mission. True to form we did, and passed a good ammount of time before making it out. Somewhere here I got a call from Amber saying that her mom still had not come, but had called my house looking for her, and my dad, not knowing that Amber was sitting outside, told her mom that she was not there. Oh dears! So I raced home, and by this time it was 2:30 and Amber had been waiting about an hour and a half. In the time she had several people ask her if she was homeless, if she needed change, if she was okay, and that she could sleep there. She was sitting on the little area of grass in front of my house between the side walk and the street.
So I picked Amber up. However, we still had the problem of no keys. So we drove past her house to see if here Mom was there. She was not. We drove to my old house to see if she was there. She was not. Finally, we decided to drive to G-Pa's across the river to wait there. She was there. We had a good laugh or two and found out that Ambers Mom had been inside the apt and had gotten to the keys she told us where she left them. With that knowledge in mind, we drove back across the river to my home and my mom took us to Ambers.
From Ambers, we odered pizza, walked to the bank, picked up pizza, came back to Ambers, ate pizza, watched Donnie Darko, and drank Coke and Iced Tea from wine glasses. It is a weird thing to be eating pizza and watching movies at 3:30 in the afternoon. After watching Donnie Darko, we wanted something a little lighter, so we watched Forrest Gump. By this time it was 8:30 and we invited Sarah and Rob over to play Monopoly. But before we could do that, my parents came over and we all went to Rob's to get a friggen huge computer desk that the Surkans are getting rid of to us. There was: Mr. and Mrs. Surkan, both my parents, Jeff from last years canoe trip and his wife, Sarah, Rob, Amber and myself. Taking apart and moving this desk. We got it all packed up in Jeff's truck and my Durango, but a few of the bigger pieces were unstable so Rob and Mr. Surkan rode over in the back of the truck holding them. Sarah, Amber and I followed in Sarah's car. At a stop light, pulled up right behind them, we rolled down our window, cranked up 'Move Your Dead Bones' and rocked out, Night At The Roxbury' Style. Rob rocked out too from the truck.
Back at my place now, we were left with the task of trying to get this damn desk down stairs, and that stairway, for those of you who have not see, or don't remember, is VERY narrow. Needless to say... the biggest heavy part... didn't make it down last night (though my parents took it apart and moved it this morning' Sarah, Rob, Amber and I ran away, squished into Sarah's car (with a bookcase in the back seat) and drove to Shoppers to buy candy and hairdye. Which reminds me, I have to call Sarah...
... well then. Turns out Sarah has just talked to Amber at work and I didn't NEED to call her...
We played Monopoly until about 1:30 when Amber and went to bed.
This morning I woke up, web surfed for info on Donnie Darko just to fill the gaps in my knowledge. I went to the mall, tried on cool clothes at Northern, came back, washed dishes and tidyed the kitchen for Amber, played some DDR, and wrote this. Now I think I am going to go and watch Clerks until Amber comes home from work, after which I think we will streak Sarah's hair (mayhaps Rob and I will play Kingdom Hearts whilst Amber and Sarah play hair dresser.)
So long, and thanks for all the fish!!!!
